Three stills from Thelonious Monk: Straight, No Chaser (1988), which was directed by Charlotte Zwerin and filmed by Christian Blackwood. Zwerin died in 2004 at the age of 72, and Blackwood died in 1992 at 50. Both succumbed to lung cancer. I had no idea until I looked it up. I just love this movie, and Monk. Please don’t smoke.
